This is my nightmare! I do keep copies of the important documents. One of my favorite things about living in Japan was that 100% of the time, if you lose your wallet, you'll get it back with everything in tact. Now I live in Mexico and the US, where if you lose your wallet...it's probably gone. Kind of a bummer!
