I can't agree more. And I'd like to add to the conversation that while the situation is rough in the United States and Europe, in Japan, it's even worse. Living there with a dog and not a child, I met many people who didn't have children. Pretty much, the women that didn't have children were treated as second-class citizens who didn't have a purpose. In addition to having so much pressure to have children, the woman were always blamed if it wasn’t working, and the men’s sperm were never even tested. I found this very upsetting.
